Return		    Birdie Hec is a woman seeking revenge. When she was a little girl, her mother was abused by six men who were never prosecuted.

     Her mother eventually ended up in a rest home and passed away. Birdie returned to Minnesota from her home in Kansas City to attend the funeral.

     Amongst her mother's belongings, she finds an envelope containing six photographs, and four names. Her mother had left behind evidence as to the identity of her abusers.

     Birdie gave up her home and job in Kansas City to move back to New Dresden, Minnesota, under an assumed name,  to track down the abusers. Her objective was to punish each one of them by forfeiting their lives for her mother's.

    Tom Hastings meets four woman who had recently moved to an apartment house in New Dresden. Unknown to him, one of the women is Birdie Hec, and she suspects that he may be one of the abusers.
